The overall winning teams’ final speed average is a testament to that, as they only averaged 51-miles per hour. That is ten miles an hour slower than last years winning speed. "We had a trouble free ride," reported Red Bull USA Dakar team manager Scot Harden. "The big 950 Rally performed flawlessly." It was a very successful test run for the riders, the mechanics and the team heading into Dakar. The bike drew a lot of attention wherever it went and many fans and enthusiasts stopped by to wish us well - not only here at the Baja 1000, but at the Dakar as well. The team’s 11th overall motorcycle final result was quite an amazing feat due to both the difficulty of the course and the size of the big twin. There were over 279 starters the event including motorcycles, cars, trucks and quads. In just the motorcycle category alone there were ninety motorcycles that started the event. The Red Bull USA Dakar team’s next pre-Dakar test takes place December 6th through 12th in Douz, Tunisia. While there the team will ride the actual Dakar race machines including the 950 Rally twin, to be ridden by Paul Krause, and the 700cc LC4 singles which will be ridden by Larry and Casey.

The team will also engage in actual navigation test sessions and get an opportunity to test themselves in actual North Africa race conditions. The Team returns to America December 12th for final preparations before heading back to Europe for the start of the actual Paris-Dakar Rally December 28th.Congratulations to riders Larry Roeseler, Paul Krause, Scot Harden, Casey McCoy and the rest of the Red Bull USA Dakar team for your hard work and fantastic finish at the 36th SCORE Tecate Baja 1000.
